T10.3S - Pig change station with T-piece
Combined with the proven I.S.T. T-piece the pig change station becomes a space saving and safe device for the pigging system. The T-piece has the function of a product supply as well as of a pig launching and receiving station.
Function of the pig change station: In its basic position the pig change chamber is closed, the pigs lie in their end position. The removal side is completely closed and safeguarded. In order to have the pigs driven into the pig change chamber it is switched in a straight line with the pigging station. Thus, the pigs can be completely driven into the pig change station. In order to remove the pigs the change chamber is swivelled by 90° so that the connection to the pipeline is shut. When the station is opened, the pigs can be removed without any danger caused by pressure.
Safe and compact: The pig changing station enables very safe and space-saving loading of the pigs into the pipeline. Here a loading chamber for loading of unloading is swiveled by 90° to the pipeline. The pig can be loaded / unloaded in depressurized pipeline state. The respective switching signals are recorded by sensors and transmitted to the process control system.
Design Characteristics
The function of the pig change station is ensured by a double bearing ball. The ball is sealed by a spring-loaded, self-adjusting sealing ring. The pig change chamber has multiple safeguards against unintentional opening and thus meets the highest safety requirements:
- In straight position, a mechanical lockprevents the locking coupling fromopening.
- A pneumatic lock prevents the chamberfrom pivoting under pressure
- The swivel chamber can be secured with alockable locking bolt
- A lock that can be released manuallyprevents unintentional switching
- The locking coupling can also be securedwith a lock to prevent it from being opened
