Pigging technology for powders and granulates

Beside liquid products, also powders and granulates can be pigged. Deposits in the pipeline are a common problem in pneumatic product transfer; these deposits are often loosened with slight hammer strokes. This does not provide a long-term solution as the causes for the deposits are still there.

With regular use of special I.S.T. jet pigs the forming of deposits is avoided, manual loosening is not necessary any more. Thus, a complete utilisation of the loosened products is facilitated and a possible cross-contamination on transferring a new product is avoided. I.S.T. has successfully worked in the powder-pigging technology for decades.
